My name is Michael, and I am 83 years young and have dementia and mobility issues. I am looking for support to allow my wife some respite. The support I require is:
1. Personal care including showering, dressing and toileting
2. Help with personal paperwork
3. Help to tidy my personal belongings e.g. clothes
4. Ensuring I am safe
I like to sit quietly and watch the news, current affairs and documentaries on my iPad and phone. This support would be for up to 16 hours per month and will be discussed during the interview. You will need to have your own transport as I live in a small village near Lockerbie that does not have a frequent bus service.
The qualities and skills that I am looking for are:
5. Honest and trustworthy
6. Reliable
7. Flexible
8. Some experience with dementia but not essential
9. Moving and assistance training
10. Empathetic and sensitive to my moods
