The role
As a Storekeeper, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a key role in supporting critical defence communication operations by ensuring equipment is received, issued, repaired, and recorded accurately. Working as part of a close-knit team of five, your work will directly support meeting contractual requirements and maintaining operational readiness. This is an onsite role that offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to build a stable and rewarding career within defence engineering support.
Day to day you’ll be required to:
1. Receiving, issuing, and accounting for communication equipment using correct procedures
2. Managing broken equipment, arranging repairs, and ordering replacements where required
3. Maintaining accurate records across internal databases and storage systems
4. Supporting the Stores Accountant and working collaboratively within the stores team
5. Driving Land Rovers and operating forklift trucks once trained and authorised
The role is based on site at Bovington, and the set working times are Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am to 3:00pm, totalling 39 hours per week. On call rotas and overtime are available and may include weekends.
Essential experience of the Storekeeper:
6. Competent IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office applications
7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain strong working relationships
8. Good general health and safety awareness
Qualifications for the Storekeeper:
We value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you. However a full UK manual driving licence is essential.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
