Operations Manager Salary: £40,000 – £43,000 per year Location: Norwich, NR6 Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time Winner Recruitment is partnering with a leading national logistics and e-commerce distribution business to recruit an experienced Operations Manager for one of their key sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on operational leader to step into a high-paced, commercially driven environment where service excellence, compliance, and people leadership sit at the heart of the role. The Role As Operations Manager, you'll work closely with the Site Manager to ensure the site runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You'll oversee day-to-day operations, lead and develop the team, and ensure performance targets, KPIs and compliance standards are consistently met. This role suits someone who thrives in a busy parcel/logistics operation and enjoys being both strategic and hands-on when needed. Key Responsibilities Ensure all Health & Safety, security and compliance procedures are fully adhered to Lead, motivate and develop a large operational team Work collaboratively with the Site Manager to deliver KPIs and service excellence Manage drivers and ensure standards of appearance, communication and performance are met Conduct formal reviews for subcontractors and ensure SLA requirements are achieved Oversee site appearance and ensure it reflects a professional and safe working environment Deliver staff briefings in line with the company communication strategy Manage performance, conduct annual reviews, and support employee development plans Monitor cost performance against forecast and contribute to monthly challenge meetings Maintain accurate operational and transport records in line with audit and statutory requirements Plan and monitor staffing levels to support productivity requirements Lead on adherence to risk-reduction strategies and site security procedures Support recruitment, absence management, return-to-work interviews, holidays, and induction processes Handle customer traffic profile, including non-standard loads About You We're looking for someone who brings: 5 years' experience in operations management within logistics, parcels or a similar fast-paced environment Experience leading teams of 12 people Strong understanding of operational data, KPIs and performance reporting Excellent communication skills and confidence managing both employees and subcontractors Solid working knowledge of warehouse/transport systems and Microsoft Office A proactive leadership style with a focus on coaching, motivation and continuous improvement A hands-on mindset with the ability to step into operational tasks when needed Why Apply?
