About the role:
As a Mental Health Access Worker, you will provide welcoming and professional access to mental health supports and play an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC). Your people skills will help the MMHC team create a centre that supports individuals from all backgrounds to receive comprehensive mental health services. Your responsibilities will include:
12. Providing support to people, helping them identify and connect with the support they need;
13. Facilitating brief non-clinical interventions including psychosocial support, safety planning and advocacy;
14. Supporting the MMHC team by answering calls and managing enquiries; and
15. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of integrated mental health services and prioritising evidence-based practices.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally hold a tertiary qualification in an Allied Mental Health discipline and be registered with an appropriate professional association and/or AHPRA or be currently studying and have relevant experience working in Mental Health service delivery. You will ideally have experience in rural and/or remote communities, excellent communication skills and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. You will also require a current driver's licence.
