A supportive and inclusive primary school in North London is seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral and SEN support team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with behavioural, emotional, and social needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation, or difficulties engaging in the classroom environment. You will provide one-to-one and small group mentoring, supporting pupils to develop positive coping strategies, emotional awareness, and appropriate behaviour for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted behaviour and emotional support to identified pupils
* Support children with SEMH needs, ADHD, and trauma-related behaviours
* Implement behaviour support plans and risk assessments
* Work alongside class teachers, SENCo, and safeguarding leads
* De-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
* Promote positive behaviour and engagement across the school
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* Team Teach or behaviour management training desirable
