Business Development Executive

Location : Bristol/Cardiff/Plymouth

Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 plus Car Allowance

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent

The role

This is a field‑based role focused on growing our SME customer base. As a Business Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for identifying, winning and onboarding new business opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and working closely with operational teams to ensure a smooth and successful customer journey.

You’ll be proactive, sales‑driven, and confident working independently — spotting opportunities, opening doors, and converting prospects into long‑term CitySprint customers.

What you’ll be doing

6. Identifying and winning new SME customers through proactive prospecting
7. Building and managing a robust new‑business pipeline
8. Generating leads via outbound activity, networking and market research
9. Presenting tailored solutions, negotiating terms and closing deals
10. Managing opportunities through the full CitySprint sales cycle
11. Ensuring a smooth handover of new customers to operations and account management teams
12. Maintaining accurate records in Salesforce and tracking performance against KPIs
13. Working closely with operations and marketing to deliver the best customer outcomes

What we’re looking for

14. Experience in a sales, business development or commercial role
15. Strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills
16. A proactive, target‑driven mindset with the ability to work independently
17. Confidence presenting solutions and handling objections
18. Organised, resilient and comfortable managing a busy pipeline
19. Previous experience using a CRM system (preferably Salesforce)
20. Experience in logistics or a service‑led industry is helpful, but not essential
