Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Nurse to join the Central Site Stoma / Colorectal Nursing team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales. The successful candidate will be a self‑motivated practitioner dedicated to promoting and developing clinical excellence. You will support patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings within a multi‑disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Deliver patient care complementary to that offered by doctors and other health‑care professionals within the field of Stoma / Colorectal care.
* Support both inpatient and outpatient services to ensure patients receive appropriate management and treatment, aiding their pathway and contributing to decreased length of stay.
* Provide holistic assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs for elective and emergency patients.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care.
* Demonstrate involvement in change management and successful implementation of practice / quality improvements.
* Act as a role model for organisational and leadership skills within the team.
* Work effectively with other stakeholders and support multi‑professional working.
Welsh language – speaking Welsh is desirable, but Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Criteria
* Registered Nurse with current registration with the N.M.C.
* Post‑registration education – Diploma or Degree level.
* Post‑registration nursing experience at Band 5 level or above.
* Demonstrated involvement in change management and successful implementation of practice / quality improvements.
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
* Experience of multi‑professional working and working effectively with other stakeholders.
* Knowledge of the advances and current issues in lower gastrointestinal disorders.
* Excellent verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
* Teaching skills.
* RGN First Level Nurse status.
* Working toward or holding a Nursing Diploma.
Desirable Criteria
* Completion of a Stoma / Colorectal course or equivalent.
* Substantial post‑registration experience with Stoma / Colorectal patients.
