Job Description
Carnival UK is seeking a Lead Guest Decision Scientist to join our Insight and Data Science team. The role focuses on driving commercial decision-making through advanced analysis and modelling of guest data on a 12-month fixed-term basis. You will work with diverse data sources, including purchase transactions, guest profiling, feedback surveys, and other relevant data ethically obtained.
This position primarily concentrates on enhancing the guest experience by bridging scientific outputs and business applications. You will collaborate with in-house consumer research experts to design advanced statistical analyses and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders to influence decisions. The role requires a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset to apply data science techniques creatively and actionably.
Key Questions Addressed:
* What drives the most holiday enjoyment to focus our efforts effectively?
* How can historical data on ship refits and guest feedback identify impactful investment areas?
* What is the relationship between employee and guest satisfaction, and where should improvements be targeted?
Insight and Data Science is a central team guiding stakeholders across areas like ship deployment, entertainment, F&B, retail, decarbonisation, branding, marketing, messaging, customer experience, and sales channels. The role will have one direct report.
Positioned within our internal structure from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President), this role is classified as CUK06, offered as a full-time fixed-term position with hybrid work options, including up to two days remote work per week.
Requirements: Your Expertise and Leadership
* Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Operations Research, Applied Statistics, Applied Math, or related fields
* Strong consultation, interpretation, and communication skills to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders
* Excellent analytical, statistical, and modelling skills with experience manipulating data from various systems
* Proficiency in Python
* Experience with survey data, especially customer feedback and Net Promoter Score data (preferred)
