Our client, a leading provider of engineering solutions to the power and utilities sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver Primary and Grid Substation projects for a DNO framework.
This role will oversee the full lifecycle of substation build and refurbishment works, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality, and safety standards. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, manage, and deliver substation projects from inception to completion.
* Coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams to achieve project objectives.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Manage project budgets, forecasts, and commercial activities in collaboration with the commercial team.
* Act as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
* Lead and motivate project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect project delivery.
* Conduct quality checks and ensure all works meet technical specifications.
Requirements:
* Degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
* Proven track record in managing HV distribution network projects, ideally within substations.
* Experience overseeing both civil and electrical works.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proficient in planning, scheduling, and resource management.
* Commercially astute with experience in budget and contract management.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
* £60,000-£70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
* Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
