Are you passionate about making a real impact on public transport in Greater Manchester?

Do you have the expertise to lead stakeholder engagement and build strong relationships with key decision-makers? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to shape the future of bus services in the region.

Your Role

As the Lead for Stakeholder and District Liaison, you will play a pivotal role in driving stakeholder engagement strategies that support the Bee Network’s vision. You will develop and implement structured engagement plans, forge relationships with local authorities, MPs, and community groups, and ensure stakeholder insights shape service improvements. Acting as a senior point of contact, you will provide strategic advice, manage emerging challenges, and represent TfGM at high-profile meetings and events.

Who are we?

The Bus Services Team at TfGM is at the forefront of delivering the Bee Network, the UK’s biggest public transport reform outside of London. With the introduction of bus franchising, we are bringing buses back under local control to create an integrated, accessible, and customer-focused transport network. This role is an opportunity to be part of this transformation, working with stakeholders to ensure communities across Greater Manchester have a say in shaping the future of bus services. You will be joining a dedicated and passionate team committed to delivering high-quality services that improve connectivity, sustainability, and accessibility for all.

What you’ll bring.

What you do and how you do it is important – whatever type of role you work in at TfGM – and even small behaviours and actions can have a really big impact. At TfGM, our behaviours bring to life our values of Deliver, Care and Adapt.

We are looking for an experienced stakeholder engagement professional with a strong background in transport, local government, or community engagement. You should have exceptional relationship management skills, the ability to influence decision-making, and experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local authorities, councillors, and community groups. Strong written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking, and experience leading engagement activities such as public consultations or workshops are essential.

What we can offer you

This role offers the chance to be at the heart of Greater Manchester’s bus transformation, shaping services through effective stakeholder engagement. You will work within a dynamic and supportive team, building relationships with key stakeholders to influence transport policy and service delivery. With a competitive salary, a hybrid working model, and opportunities for career development, you will play a vital role in delivering the Bee Network. We also offer generous annual leave, pension contributions, and free local travel, with flexible working arrangements available to support work-life balance.

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

Our benefits include:

* Generous annual leave starting at 28 days (plus bank holidays), increasing with service, with options to buy more.
* Free travel on buses across Greater Manchester, plus rail or Metrolink travel to and from work.
* Local Government defined pension scheme with life cover of 3x salary and options to boost your contributions.
* Enhanced family-friendly leave policies, including those supporting fertility treatment, alongside flexible and hybrid working and a special leave policy to support a range of unexpected events. Please note that qualification criteria may apply, including a requirement to have been employed with the organisation for a minimum specified period of time.
