Job Description

Job title: CasualHousekeeping Floor Porter

Department: Housekeeping

Inspired & supported by: Head Porter and Executive Housekeeper

Salary: £16.27 (including service charge)

Your purpose will be: To assist the Housekeeping department in operating smoothly and efficiently by ensuring timely delivery and collection of linen and supplies, maintaining cleanliness and order in guest and service areas, and supporting the team in creating exceptional guest experiences.

You will be accountable for:

4. Distributing linen and housekeeping supplies to guest floors and pantries.
5. Restocking maid service stations; removing soiled linen, rubbish, and empty water bottles.
6. Assisting with the upkeep and cleanliness of corridors, service areas, and back-of-house zones, including high dusting and cleaning ceiling lamps.
7. Restocking minibar cabinets in corridors and pantries.
8. Transporting water bottles between storage and pantries, returning empties to storage.
9. Supporting stock control through regular inventory checks of linen, goods, and equipment.
10. Handling all items with care and respect.
11. Responding promptly to guest and colleague requests, including placing/removing extra beds, baby cots, or arranging twin bedding.
12. Receiving and managing deliveries of housekeeping items such as toilet paper, tissue boxes, and other supplies.
13. Assisting Room Attendants with room preparation and cleaning as needed.
14. Acting in accordance with fire, health & safety regulations.
15. Adhering to all Savoy policies and procedures.
16. Being an active member of the Savoy team in our mission of “Turning Moments into Memories” for our guests.

Qualifications

What you will need to do this role:

17. Previous experience in a similar role within a high-quality or five-star hotel.
18. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
19. Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
20. Highly organised, able to work independently, and use initiative.
21. Physically fit for the demands of the role.
22. Enthusiastic, positive, and well-groomed with a professional presence.
23. Flexibility to work full-time, including weekends on a rotational basis.

Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.
