Job Overview
As the Clinical Midwifery Educator, you will support the quality of the clinical learning environment for midwifery staff and learners within the Women and Children’s division by providing clinical support, educational input, and development activities for registered midwives, apprentices, and students.
Responsibilities
* Support the quality of the clinical learning environment for midwifery staff and learners within the Women and Children’s division by providing clinical support, educational input, and development activities for registered midwives, apprentices, and students.
* Encourage the development of a learning culture where both education and lifelong learning are seen as integral to clinical practice, and positively contribute to workforce development.
* Support staff and learners with their individual and Trust learning needs.
* Assist departmental managers in ensuring that all Trust Mandatory Training requirements are met.
* Support the achievement of CNST Safety Action 8 requirements.
* Work with departmental managers to prepare placement areas to support a quality learning environment, including facilitating teaching and support sessions.
* Support facilitation of Maternity Mandatory training days.
* Work with senior staff, practice development midwives, supervisors, and assessors to ensure all new staff and learners receive a robust induction and orientation to the work area.
* Work closely with the Risk and Governance Lead and the matrons to assist in completion of education and actions relating to serious incident and moderate incident investigations.
* Ensure Trust policies are adhered to by all staff and report any non‑compliance as necessary.
* Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines where applicable.
* Support the appraisal process and any associated training and performance‑management processes of supervisors, assessors, and practice educators in collaboration with the individual’s line manager.
* Act as a professional role model and provide leadership to junior members of staff and learners.
