We are seeking a qualified and experienced HGV Technician who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.
You can expect to work in a positive and vibrant environment where your efforts will be rewarded. Skills shortages can be addressed through upskilling, but the right attitude and desire to provide first-class service are essential.
Your responsibilities will include inspecting a varied and diverse fleet.
You may work on main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), refuse collection vehicles, road sweepers, hook loaders, light commercials (vans), trailers, and tippers.
The work you can expect to carry out includes (but is not limited to):
1. Routine and preventative maintenance
2. MOT preparation
3. Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
4. 6- or 8-week inspections
5. Correction of running defects
6. Chassis and fabrication work
7. Hydraulics and pneumatics
8. Improving vehicle standards
9. Electrical and wiring inspections and repairs
Ideally, you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ, or equivalent. Additional certifications such as IRTEC would be advantageous, as would a HGV Class 1 license.
