Funeral Director – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
£29,230 (£14.99 per hour) including London Allowance, plus benefits. Full‑time 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8am–8pm. This role is part of the on‑call rota, including weekends.
Location: Earlsfield, SW17 0JY.
Overview
We are looking for an empathetic and commercially minded individual to join the Co‑op Funeralcare team. Experience in the funeral industry is not required – strong people skills, a commercial focus, and the ability to manage and deliver high‑quality service are key.
Responsibilities
* Ensure client needs, service levels, and KPIs are met.
* Serve as the main point of contact for clients, supporting and guiding them with the help of the wider team.
* Support funerals – conduct the ceremony, lead the team, and carry the deceased when necessary.
* Ensure all regulated work, including funeral planning appointments, is referred to a certified colleague.
* Build and maintain relationships with the team, clients, and the community.
Qualifications
* Commercial mindset and experience in a managerial role.
* True customer focus with a passion for delivering a great service.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in service delivery.
* Compassion, understanding, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Valid UK manual driving licence.
