Salary: £90- 95 day (dependent on experience and/or qualifications) — weekly pay (PAYE)

The Role
A well-established special educational needs (SEN) setting in Barking, a short walk from Barkign Riverside station are looking for a dedicated and patient Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team on a supply basis. The successful candidate will be supporting young people aged 3–19 with a range of learning difficulties and social, emotional, or behavioural needs as they prepare for adulthood.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about empowering students with additional needs to develop independence, confidence, and key life skills in a supportive environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Building positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and wellbeing
Providing behaviour and emotional regulation support, promoting positive decision-making and resilience
Supporting students in both classroom and vocational learning settings
Acting as a consistent role model, promoting independence and social development
Assisting with personalised learning plans and helping students achieve their individual goals
Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, and families to deliver holistic, person-centred support
Encouraging participation in community and work-related learning opportunities
About You
Experience supporting young people with special educational needs, SEMH, or behavioural needs is highly desirable
Calm, empathetic, and proactive in your approach
Able to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries
A team player with a genuine passion for helping young adults succeed
