As a Design Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering multiple brand projects from concept to delivery, supporting the business and Store design team with plans and guidelines using CAD. You will manage brand design projects alongside a Project Manager to ensure innovative and sustainable design solutions, maintaining effective communication with buyers and brand partners through timely updates. Your role includes supporting the Store Design/Property and Buying Teams in retail planning and design to deliver best-in-class solutions.
Your key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring effective design coordination throughout the entire project lifecycle.
2. Assisting in preparing for design meetings and presentations for senior management.
You will:
1. Be part of a team delivering world-class retail experiences.
2. Manage the creation of design guidelines for compartments/departments.
3. Provide CAD support as needed.
4. Coordinate with other departments such as M&E, Facilities, and Project Management.
5. Assist in producing presentations.
6. Conduct brand design briefings with Project Managers and Buyers.
Manage approvals of shopfit projects from concept to detailed design, ensuring adherence to Selfridges’ masterplan and sustainability guidelines, liaising with brands, maintaining design integrity, and ensuring compliance with standards and legislation. You will also participate in site visits, promote design innovation, and communicate project progress effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign & Photoshop), and Microsoft Office; SketchUp is an advantage.
* Innovative, commercially-minded, and detail-oriented in design.
* Solution-focused with a passion for sustainable design.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Able to manage time effectively and work under pressure.
* Knowledge of construction practices, joinery, and practical site experience.
* Skilled in hand sketching.
* Self-motivated, team-oriented, and eager to learn.
