We're looking for someone able to direct all kitchen activities for breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon teas & banqueting, ensuring these dining experiences positively contribute to memorable moments for our guests - whenever and wherever they dine. You’ll be capable of ensuring consistency in dish product quality, kitchen maintenance, food hygiene expectations and inventory functions, all to achieve the highest of standards as expected by our brand & current legislation so that the kitchen is always running smoothly, and at the most economical cost. Key Responsibilities of our Head Chef include: - Having a flair and passion for food, leading by example to all junior chefs in all elements of food preparation and service - Directing all daily kitchen activities, planning and organising workloads ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers in line with the current payroll budget - Displaying & encouraging the right temperament for a successfully run service, promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments - Maintaining up-to-date knowledge & managing all government Health and Food Safety legislation including HACCP, ensuring all necessary checks are completed throughout the kitchen (both quality and safety checks) - Developing your team and improving their performance through regular coaching and feedback, creating performance and development goals for colleagues & recognising good performance when its due - Ensuring our dishes are always at their best & to the standards as agreed with the team but in line with brand expectations, ensuring all Allergen information is updated and accurate for all food items - Making sure food items are secure and stored safely - keeping stocks replenished to minimise waste and ensuring that all kitchen equipment and environment are hygienic and working properly About the Hotel Housed in the magnificent Grade II listed Central Buildings, dating back to 1884, the beautifully restored boutique hotel is steeped in history. The Beatles-inspired hotel features elegantly furnished and individually decorated rooms with specially commissioned artwork. The hotel has one restaurant, two bars serving light bites and a wide range of drinks, along with hosting some of the city’s top acoustic musicians every Friday and Saturday night. In addition, the hotel boasts 3 meeting and event suites catering for up to 180 guests, all offering ‘Beatles inspired’ iconic photographs of the Fab Four and the latest in audio-visual equipment, creating a playful environment for any event!
