Prospero Teaching is looking for resilient and experienced Learning Support Assistants to work in an inspiring SEN School in Alnwick, starting after Easter in April 2024. The school offers opportunities across EYFS to Sixth Form, catering to various preferences and specialisms.
The roles are full-time and long-term, with the potential for permanency for suitable candidates.
Your key responsibilities will include working alongside Class Teachers and other Support Staff to provide tailored support to pupils based on their individual learning needs and styles.
The role involves supporting pupils with a range of SEN and challenging behaviors, including non-verbal pupils, those requiring personal care, and pupils resistant to learning. Your adaptability, resilience, and relationship-building skills will be crucial.
The school provides a supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This role offers the chance to positively impact children's lives daily.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Supporting pupils with challenging behavior and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
2. Managing challenging behavior positively and consistently.
3. Differentiating learning to meet diverse needs and learning styles.
4. Building strong relationships with colleagues and pupils to deliver outstanding support.
5. Engaging actively with pupils to support their learning.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service; we can assist with processing a new one if needed).
2. Childcare-based qualification (not essential but preferred).
3. Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
4. Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
5. Experience in classroom support.
6. Enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils.
7. Genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
8. Willingness to engage with pupils and form positive relationships.
