This role is ideal for a Senior or Lead Software Engineer who has begun mentoring or leading engineers and is ready to take the next step into formal Engineering Management. You will combine people leadership, technical judgement, and delivery ownership, helping guide teams while contributing to technical strategy and product delivery. The Role You'll play a key leadership role within the engineering function, supporting delivery of the product roadmap while helping build high-performing teams within the Belfast engineering centre. You will work closely with Product, Architecture and Engineering leadership to drive quality delivery, continuous improvement, and strong engineering culture. Responsibilities Support the leadership of engineering teams, including regular 1:1s, coaching, and career development support. Help develop engineers through mentoring, technical guidance, and performance feedback. Champion engineering best practices, including test automation, CI/CD pipelines, code quality standards, and documentation. Participate in design reviews, challenging assumptions and helping teams evaluate technical trade-offs. Work closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to support delivery of the product roadmap. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across engineering and business stakeholders. Remove delivery blockers related to process, tooling, or quality. Provide clarity and structure in team discussions through proactive communication. Promote operational excellence, supporting monitoring and reliability of production systems. Contribute to building a positive, high-performance engineering culture. Requirements Senior or Lead Software Engineer background with strong technical foundations. 2-3 years' experience mentoring, coaching or leading engineers in Agile environments. Experience working with cross-functional teams in software delivery. Strong communication and facilitation skills. Collaborative mindset with ability to work across functions.
