Position Summary
* The laboratory phlebotomist I is responsible for pre analytical processes including the performance of a variety of phlebotomy functions including specimen collection and sample processing in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
* Collects specimens in accordance with laboratory policies, reporting any variations to the supervisor.
* Functions are completed effectively and accurately ensuring the department's needs are met in a timely manner.
* Provides effective service excellence for each patient encounter ensuring positive outcomes.
* Possesses strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.
Education
Minimum Qualifications
* A minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.
Work Experience
* 1 year phlebotomy experience or phlebotomy certification course completion
* Rigid accuracy in identification & reporting of numbers and names
* Ability to enter computer data into Laboratory Information System
* Ability to use automated instruments and mechanical apparatus with appropriate training

Salary Range: Minimum 22.00/hour - Maximum 22.00/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
