Job Summary
The Finance Manager will support the Head of Commercial Finance and the Finance Director with all accounting and controlling within the business. They will ensure a high standard of reporting, governance, and controls across all areas of finance. The Finance Manager will collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting to meet the decision-making requirements of the wider business. Act as a key member of the Finance Team. Together with the wider business, they will continue to embed structured processes and drive continuous improvement in all areas of financial reporting, control, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Support
* Maintaining accruals and prepayments
* Managing and accounting for a large value of fixed assets
* Assisting with the preparation of technical accounting memos, referencing relevant prescribed accounting guidelines, and ensuring all Group entities' accounting is accurate and up to date.
Monthly Closing and Reporting
* Leading the monthly close timetable
* Ensuring accurate revenue and cost reporting in flash reports
* Leading the presentation and review of business performance dashboards
* Managing the monthly closure of periods and rollovers
* Leading monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing the group's initial flash results for review
* Completing month-end reporting and board packs for internal and external use
Commercial Business Reporting and Management
* Assisting in budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis
* Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting projects
* Managing insurance policies and renewals
* Overseeing accounts payable to ensure timely invoice processing and spend analysis
* Handling monthly VAT returns and PAYE submissions
Business Partnering and Support
* Acting as a Business Partner to the Commercial Team
* Supporting the development of efficient business and finance processes
* Supporting improvement initiatives
Compliance and Governance
* Maintaining financial controls and processes
* Preparing annual statutory accounts
* Supporting statutory audits
* Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial filings
People Management
* Managing, developing, and mentoring team members
* Conducting performance reviews and providing feedback
Person Specification
Confident in stakeholder coordination, a role model, with excellent planning, organizational skills, and attention to detail. A self-starter capable of leading projects to completion, adaptable, and committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria
* Professional accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
* Experience in financial modelling, control, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
* Approximately 5 years’ experience in a similar role
* Strong analytical and numeric skills
Desirable
* Experience in a recurring revenue tech business
* Knowledge of WAP, Salesforce, and Sage
