Overview
WSP is seeking graduates for its Civil teams who are adaptable and eager to learn within a leading engineering and professional advisory consultancy. You would join a collaborative environment applying your skills to a variety of clients and projects across Civil disciplines including bridges, airport planning and advisory, airfield engineering, maritime, and pavements. The roles are based in multiple locations across the UK.

* Bridges: A9 Dualling Specimen Design, A83 Rest and Be Thankful, M8 Woodside Viaducts, A5 Western Transport Corridor, Southern Link Road (CSLR), Tyne Bridge refurbishment, Thelwall Viaduct, HS2 Old Oak Common and Euston Stations, Old Street Underground Station redevelopment, Network Rail Civil Assessment Framework, Brent Cross TfL Structures Project
* Maritime Engineering: Barking Waste Transfer Station, Future Port Talbot, UK Ports Inspection and Rehabilitation
* Pavement Engineering: Bristol Port, National Highways, DIO MOD HS2 Old Oak Common Lane, aircraft arrestor system in Iceland, airfield in Guinea, offshore wind port facilities, National Highways SDF projects, local authority projects
* Airfield Engineering: Stansted Terminal expansion, Gatwick Pier 6 extension, Heathrow control point, runway extensions and airside upgrades
* Airport Planning & Advisory: Leeds Bradford Airport Strategic Study, Copenhagen Airport Master Plan, Almaty Airport Technical Advisory, Dubai World Central Airport Phase II, Airport Master Plans and Competitions in Saudi Arabia
Team areas and day-to-day activities
* Bridge Engineering: support structural inspection, assessment, design, strengthening, repair, asset management, and project management; manage smaller projects while gaining exposure to large works; day-to-day tasks include bridge inspections, site visits, asset management, structural design and assessment, and contractor supervision.
* Aviation – Airport Planning & Advisory: deliver airport planning and advisory services, including master planning, demand forecasting, capacity analysis, airside/terminal modelling, sustainability advice; tasks include technical delivery, bid preparation, and research on emerging markets such as sustainable aviation fuels and AAM/eVTOLs.
* Aviation – Airfield Engineering: assist with airfield infrastructure design, production of technical reports and specifications, Civil 3D design, and design coordination across disciplines; involve visits to airfields in the UK and internationally.
* Maritime Engineering: work on port facilities and coastal projects; activities include inspection, design and rehabilitation of ports, site visits, reporting and drawings, calculations, and document control.
* Pavement Engineering: deliver pavement assessment, design, and asset management for aviation, maritime, streetscapes, and highways, with emphasis on cost efficiency and embodied carbon reduction.
Graduate Development Programme
Our two-year programme supports personal and professional development through blended learning, mentoring for professional registration, networking, and extensive on-the-job experience. We encourage pursuit of chartered status with professional bodies such as ICE and IStructE, supported through a training agreement.
What we’re looking for
* You will have graduated with at least a 2:2 in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
* You should be ready to start in April or September 2026.
* You should have a passion for engineering and a desire for the built environment, infrastructure, places and the economy, with enthusiasm for creativity and problem solving.
* You should be eager to contribute ideas and inspiration.
