About the Role
Our GP practice in Wigan is looking to welcome a caring, motivated and experienced Practice Nurse to join our supportive primary care team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent patient care within a forward-thinking general practice environment.
You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality nursing care to our patient population. Nurses with existing GP practice experience are encouraged to apply, but we will also support clinicians wishing to develop their skills further.
Key Responsibilities
•
Management of long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, COPD, asthma, hypertension)
•
Childhood and adult immunisations
•
Cervical cytology
•
Wound care and dressing management
•
NHS health checks and routine reviews
•
Family planning advice (where trained)
•
Travel health advice and vaccinations
•
Health promotion & patient education
•
Accurate clinical record keeping using EMIS Web
•
Collaborative working with GPs, ANPs, HCAs, pharmacists, and admin teams
Essential Requirements
•
Registered Nurse (NMC Pin)
•
Strong assessment and clinical skills
•
Excellent communication and team-working ability
•
Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
Desirable Experience (Training can be provided)
•
Chronic disease management qualifications
•
Cervical screening
•
Childhood immunisation training
•
Travel vaccination training
