We are currently recruiting for a CommunityEngagement Coordinator to be based at Sue Ryder Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice inKeighley.
Working collaboratively with local faith and community leaders, local organisations and other local groups and individuals to help shape palliative care and bereavement support services to better support the diverse needs of service users and those close to them.
Main duties of the job
About the role:
The Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) willbe responsible for increasing the reach of local palliative care andbereavement support services to all demographics of the local population. The CEC will build connections and trust withthe local population such as faith communities, communities of interest,communities of place as well as organisations and groups that supportindividuals who experience multiple disadvantages and/or inequality, forexample, people who are homeless, refugees or from LGBTQIA communities. The CEC willidentify the needs of local people and barriers to them accessing palliative andend of life care and increase the diversity of community participation in SueRyder to help shape services that better meet individuals needs. The CEC willbe embedded within the local community to bring the voice of those people intoSue Ryder and to help connect service users with people and organisations that canprovide them with the right support in ways that meets their needs.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will workas part of the Wellbeing and Community Support Service, which is responsiblefor helping us to provide more of the support that people need, in moreaccessible ways, to more communities. The CEC will do this by:

About the role
The CommunityEngagement Coordinator will be responsible for increasing the reach of thelocal palliative and bereavement services into all demographics of the localpopulation, helping to ensure the services meet individuals ongoing needs.
They will be embedded within the local community to bring the voice of thosepeople into Sue Ryder and to help connect those using Sue Ryder services withthe right people and organisations that will provide them with the rightsupport in way that meets their needs.
They will build connections and trust with local faith leaders,community groups, organisations and groups who support individuals withprotected characteristics as well as other third sector organisations such ashomeless charities and those supporting refugees for example.

1. About you:
2. To be successful in your application for the post of Community Engagement Coordinator, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage with diverse communities and have an understanding of health inequalities and barriers to people accessing health and social care. You must also have the ability to proactively promote equity, diversity and inclusion. Knowledge of the local area, including community and faith groups and local services and resources, would be advantageous.
3. You must be a car driver with access to a vehicle for work.
4. Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate:
5. Strong experience of networking and building positive relationships.
6. Ability to build trust with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and of different abilities through outreach work.
7. Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders.
8. Ability to identify services and sources of support that already exist in the local community as well as gaps in provision.
9. Experience of directly involving people and communities in designing and delivering services (co-production).
10. Ability to gather, process, analyse and present qualitative data (peoples stories and case studies) and quantitative data (numbers and statistics) in reports and presentations to evidence gaps in service provision and examples of good practice.
11. Ability to talk sensitively and confidently about death, dying and loss.
12. Experience of working independently and remotely.
13. Ability to manage your own time and competing demands and meet agreed timescales.
