Location: London or Peterborough (Hybrid) Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Reports to: PMO Director Role purpose The PMO Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the organisation’s change portfolio. The role ensures governance standards are followed, provides visibility of portfolio health, and provides data driven reporting to support decision ‑ making at executive leve l. The PMO Analyst will work across programmes and projects to maintain data quality, strengthen governance discipline, and ensure consistent application of PMO delivery frameworks. They will be able to demonstrate e xceptional communication and stakeholder management across all levels of the business, including C-Suite. Key accountabilities Portfolio Governance & Oversight Maintain PMO governance frameworks, ensuring consistent application of lifecycle stage gates and required artefacts Support preparation and operation of portfolio committees, steering groups, and governance forums Monitor adherence to governance standards across programmes and projects Reporting & Insights Consolidate programme and project status reports into enterprise dashboards Produce high quality analytics on delivery progress, risks, issues, financials, and benefits Maintain portfolio performance metrics and proactively highlight trends, concerns, or delivery risks Partner with Finance to reconcile project financials, forecasts, and benefits realisation tracking Data Quality & PMO Tooling Own the accuracy and completeness of data across PMO tooling (e.g. PPM systems, Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint) Drive standardisation of templates, reporting structures, and tooling usage across teams Risk, Issue & Dependency Management Consolidate, challenge, and track enterprise wide risks, issues, and cross portfolio dependencies Escalate items that may impact strategic delivery timelines or business outcomes Support definition of mitigation plans and ensure follow through on agreed actions Lifecycle, Methodology & Continuous Improvement Champion the PMO Framework (governance, lifecycle, artefacts, capabilities) Coach project teams on PMO processes, standards, and best practice Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce duplication, and automate reporting where possible Stakeholder Engagement Act as a trusted advisor to Programme and Project Managers, and business stakeholders on PMO processes and ways of working Prepare senior level presentations for Exec, Portfolio Steering Committees, and other governance forums Facilitate clear communication between delivery teams, leadership, and the wider organisation E xperience and personal qualities Essential Strong understanding of project and programme management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid). Experience working within an EPMO or large scale PMO environment. Confident in analysing data, interpreting trends, and producing clear reports for senior stakeholders. High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and PMO/PPM tools (e.g. Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Power BI). Ability to challenge constructively and influence delivery teams to maintain standards. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Desirable Professional PMO or project management certification (e.g. PPSO, PMO Practitioner, PRINCE2, PMP, Agile certifications). Experience in enterprise level portfolio management across technology and business change. Understanding of benefits realisation frameworks and financial governance. Personal Qualities Analytical, structured, and highly organised. Collaborative, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working in a fast paced, multi project environment. Proactive, curious, and continuously seeking ways to improve PMO capability.
