Claims Handler / Claims Assessor - Insurance
Central Bristol | Hybrid (3 office / 2 home)
£25,000 + up to 20% bonus + benefits
Full‑time | Mon-Fri (35 hours, flexibility between 8am-6pm)
The Role
We're seeking an experienced Claims Handler / Claims Assessor to join a well‑established insurance team in Bristol. You'll manage insurance claims end‑to‑end, ensuring fair, accurate and compliant outcomes in line with FCA regulations and internal policies. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong claims experience and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage insurance claims from initial notification through to settlement
* Assess claims and make decisions in line with policy terms and FCA guidelines
* Communicate with customers throughout the claims process, providing clear updates
* Liaise with third parties including medical professionals where required
* Handle queries and complaints through to resolution
* Maintain accurate and detailed case records
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and data protection requirements
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a claims handling or claims assessor role (essential)
* Strong understanding of insurance claims processes
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Confident communication skills (written and verbal)
* Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
* Strong decision‑making skills and a customer‑focused approach
