About the role:
We’re looking for a strategic, dynamic Head of Talent Acquisition to join us on a 12-month Maternity Cover and lead hiring activity, employer brand initiatives, and the delivery of exceptional recruitment experiences across Onecom. You’ll own the TA strategy, drive efficient and cost‑effective hiring, and ensure managers have full confidence in the team’s ability to deliver outstanding candidates. This role is pivotal in shaping how talent enters the organisation, balancing pace, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction in a fast‑moving environment.

* Extensive experience leading high‑volume, fast‑paced recruitment campaigns
* Strong track record of delivering a high proportion of direct hires through effective sourcing strategies
* Experience hiring specialist roles (e.g., software, sales, technical) across multiple functions
* Proven ability to coach, train and upskill hiring managers in best‑practice recruitment
* Skilled in using ATS platforms and recruitment analytics tools, with a data‑led approach to decision‑making
* Strong understanding of UK GDPR, compliance needs and employment law related to hiring
* Experience designing and implementing end‑to‑end process improvements across TA
* Able to build and execute Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and employer brand initiatives
* Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and fluctuating recruitment demand
* Confident relationship‑builder who influences stakeholders at all levels
* Tenacious, solutions‑focused and proactive in removing blockers or improving outcomes
* Previous people management experience and international recruitment exposure (desirable but not essential)
Key responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and refine TA strategy, including recruitment processes, EVP, stakeholder training, communication, and performance monitoring
* Set, analyse and report on key TA performance metrics, using data to drive improvements
* Manage and optimise the ATS to ensure accurate data, smooth workflows and strong candidate/manager experience
* Partner with People & Culture leadership to ensure alignment with succession and workforce planning
* Effectively manage recruitment budgets, forecasting and cost‑efficient sourcing strategies
* Prioritise direct sourcing and manage external partners only where necessary
* Build and maintain talent pools for future and critical roles
* Ensure offers are well‑qualified, competitive, and accepted by preferred candidates
* Deliver strong employer branding activity and maintain online review platforms
* Support internal mobility and succession planning efforts
* Ensure exceptional candidate experience, from communication to hospitality
* Train and support hiring managers throughout campaigns, ensuring confidence and consistency
* Ensure all hiring activity aligns with company values and delivers a fair, inclusive process
