Life Claims Assessor Salary: £34,000 - £40,000+ We're Aviva, and we paid over £1 billion in individual protection claims last year. To help us keep our promises, we're looking for experienced Life Claims Assessors to join our team. We settle 98.3% of all individual protection policies, and we'd love your help to maintain this standard. A bit about the job You'll assess life, terminal illness, and critical illness claims—from investigation to outcome—while supporting customers with empathy and care. You'll be part of a motivated team, working across multiple systems and helping us improve our processes. Additionally, you'll serve as a key contact for technical queries and assist in coaching colleagues. This role focuses on delivering excellent service and making a meaningful difference. What you'll be doing Managing a portfolio of claims across life protection products. Talking to customers with empathy, including delivering difficult news sensitively. Gathering and reviewing information to validate claims. Communicating clearly with customers, brokers, and third parties. Supporting process improvements and mentoring colleagues. Skills and experience we're looking for Experience assessing life insurance or protection products, including critical illness, terminal illness, and death claims. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including supporting vulnerable customers. Strong relationship-building skills. A customer-first mindset with great attention to detail. Confidence in decision-making and adapting quickly to change.
