Clinical Fellow in Dermatology

Applications are invited for a permanent Clinical Fellow in Dermatology position within the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is offered on an annualised contract of 2 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, providing flexibility to support work‑life balance. Shifts can be arranged flexibly in agreement with the Dermatology Rota Manager.

Main duties of the job
The Dermatology Department sits within the Medicine Division. We are keen for the right individual to join our dynamic and thriving department at the Royal United Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Bath.
We are looking for a committed individual of proven ability who will be able to contribute to both clinical and managerial roles within the department. The candidate should bring skills or knowledge that will enhance and expand the services already provided at the Royal United Hospital. Applicants with specialist areas of expertise are encouraged. An ability to embrace change and to develop services for more effective care delivery will be considered an asset.
The successful applicant will have extensive experience of Dermatology and will work at a senior level of responsibility, as detailed in the job description.

Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Should meet the Specialist Grade Generic Capabilities Framework
* ALS, APLS and/or ATLS or equivalent
* Holder of FFICM by examination
Ability and Knowledge. Clinical Skills
* Knowledge of own limitations
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within speciality
* Appropriate knowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgement to problems
* Able to work without direct supervision where appropriate
* Able to prioritise clinical need
* Able to maximise safety and minimise risk
* Experience in the provision and management of palliative care for critically unwell patients
* Experience and additional skills in communication skills
* Demonstrated abilities in relevant non‑clinical areas of interest which may be of benefit to the department
Research and Audit. Teaching
* Demonstrates understanding of research, including awareness of ethical issues
* Demonstrates understanding of the basic principles of audit, clinical risk management, evidence based practice, patient safety and clinical quality improvement initiatives
* Demonstrates knowledge of evidence informed practice
* Demonstrates an understanding of clinical governance
* Evidence of teaching experience and/or training in teaching
* Evidence of relevant academic and research achievements, and involvement in a formal research project
* Evidence of relevant academic publications
* Evidence of involvement in an audit project, a quality improvement project, formal research project or other activity
* Evidence of involvement in teaching students, postgraduates and other professionals
