An engineering services business within the defence sector, require a Procurement Manager. Applicants can have either direct or indirect procurement experience, but previous exposure to the aerospace or defence industries is essential.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for a mix of direct and indirect procurement tasks - leading on indirect spend activities (IT, FM, Corporate/Business Services, PPE etc.) they will also support procurement bid and programme activities on the direct side. A truly end-to-end procurement role encompassing; supplier selection, tendering/sourcing, strategy execution and SRM/contract management, the Procurement Manager will join a successful and rapidly expanding organisation at the cutting-edge of their industry.
Specific duties of the Procurement Manager include:
Develop and implement indirect and bid/project procurement strategies
Procurement Bid activities
Stakeholder partnering - Bid Teams, IPT colleagues or Head of Functions - Facilities, IT, HR etc.
Sourcing/Tendering activities - cradle-to-grave; from supplier selection, negotiation and contract award
Post-signature supplier relationship, supplier development and contract negotiation and management of agreements
Supply market intelligence activities
Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience working within an aerospace, defence contracting or MOD/central government environment
The ability to own, influencing and managing stakeholder relationships
Strategic procurement toolkit; the ability to negotiate, develop suppliers and experience working with contracts
Experience in, or appetite to manage some indirect spend areas; IT, FM, Professional/Business Services, PPE, Logistics/Fleet, Consultancies
