Projects and team context
Working as a Graduate Project Manager or Quantity Surveyor in our PMCM teams means working on exciting and innovative projects in the UK and around the world. Our team of 450 people is based across the UK, predominantly in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Cardiff, Glasgow and Belfast. We partner with clients from feasibility through design to procurement and construction.

PMCM Teams
PMCM Civils Infrastructure & Utilities
The PMCM Civil Infrastructure and Utilities Team focuses on Roads, Aviation, Defence, Industrial, Water and Energy sectors. We are looking for Graduate Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors to join us.
As a Project Manager, you will have a rich, structured, fast-paced journey that blends technical development with real-world impact. You will help plan, coordinate, and deliver complex civil infrastructure and utilities projects as part of a multidisciplinary team that transforms ideas into reality across engineering, environmental consulting, and infrastructure. You will contribute by managing timelines, budgets, risks and stakeholder relationships, while learning how to lead.
Day-to-day activities could include:
* Project Support & Coordination
* Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and developing mitigation strategies
* Prepare project documentation, reports, and presentations
* Attend client meetings and support communication between internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
* Support financial monitoring and reporting and help ensure projects stay within budget
* Assist with managing contracts under frameworks like NEC or bespoke agreements
* Learn how to interpret and apply contract terms
* Ensure project activities align with WSP's quality management systems and promote health, safety and sustainability
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will support commercial and financial management of construction and infrastructure projects across transport, water, and defence. You will be involved in cost planning, procurement, contract administration and value engineering, helping clients manage risks and maximise value.
Day-to-day activities could include:
* Assisting in preparing initial cost estimates and budgets
* Supporting feasibility studies and value engineering
* Drafting tender documents and evaluating contractor bids
* Contributing to procurement strategy and contract selection
* Monitoring contract variations and ensuring documentation accuracy
* Managing payment applications and interim valuations
* Measuring quantities on-site or from drawings to assess progress
* Value completed work and prepare cost reports
* Tracking project costs and assisting in forecasting final accounts
* Identifying risks and opportunities to improve cost efficiency
* Attending meetings with clients and contractors
* Providing commercial updates on project financials
* Compiling monthly cost reports, profit/loss summaries, and dashboards
* Maintaining project change records and commercial decisions
PMCM Rail
As a Graduate Project Manager in the PMCM Rail team you will be involved in the delivery of complex rail projects of regional, national, and international significance. You will assist in integrating multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver safe, high-quality, timely, and budget-compliant projects. You will collaborate with clients and internal teams, using WSP offices, client offices and/or site locations, and may visit sites.
Day-to-day activities could include:
* Assisting in developing detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management
* Monitoring progress and mitigating issues
* Managing project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting
* Reviewing expenditures and invoices
* Managing changes and delays and resolving them or mitigating as needed
* Handling RFIs, early warnings, and communications to reduce risk
As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor in the PMCM Rail team you will support the commercial and financial management of rail projects. You will work on cost planning, procurement, contract administration and value engineering, with occasional site visits.
Day-to-day activities could include:

The PMCM Buildings Team focuses on properties and buildings across sectors including local authorities, residential, education, central government, and commercial. Graduates in this team work across diverse multi-disciplinary teams from early project stages through to delivery.
We are looking for Graduate Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Building Surveyors to join us.
Day-to-day activities:
* Planning of projects
* Monitoring progress against schedule
* Managing risks
* Engaging with stakeholders
* Developing cost estimates and tracking costs
* Supporting contract management
PMCM Programme Solutions
Be part of WSP's Project Controls team, delivering projects across Rail, Energy and highways. As a graduate, you will learn to keep projects on track using document control, performance reporting, and scheduling to drive excellence.
Day-to-day activities could include:
* Maintaining and updating project schedules
* Document control and version management
* Preparing performance reports (cost, schedule, KPIs)
* Developing dashboards and analytics for project controls
* Collaborating with delivery teams for data-driven decisions
