Shebbear Community School is a small, friendly primary school with lovely children and a supportive staff with a huge range of expertise. We prioritise the well-being of our children and staff, making it a nurturing and enjoyable place to work.
This post is for a 1:1 TA to work with a child both in and out of the classroom. Applications are welcome from both experienced and less experienced TAs. The hours are Monday to Friday mornings from to pm with a 30 minute break, for 38 weeks of the year. Visits to the school are welcome. The role does include lunchtime cover and the needs of the child are such that some intimate care is required. This post is fixed term linked to the continued attendance of the child and their continued funding to meet the SEND needs.
We can offer a lovely well-maintained school site and environment with:
- well behaved pupils who are keen to learn;
- a vibrant and happy school at the heart of the community;
- a fantastic, experienced team who will support you;
- a commitment to your work-life balance and wellbeing;
- free, convenient parking, adjacent to the school.
If you decide to apply, please refer to the person specification when writing the application. We are looking for the ‘right person’ to fulfil the role and we believe that recruitment is not an exercise based entirely on tick boxes so would encourage you to apply if you feel you are the right person for our school.
We would prefer to find two applicants who are willing to job-share, although will also consider applicants interested in a full time position.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
