Year 6 Teacher (Full-Time) Burnham | Primary School Setting September Start | Full-time Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Burnham to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Key Stage 2 practitioner to join a nurturing school environment and play a crucial role in preparing pupils for their transition to secondary school. This role would suit a committed and driven teacher with a strong understanding of the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum, who is passionate about raising attainment and supporting pupils during this important stage of their education. The Role As a Year 6 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality Key Stage 2 curriculum, ensuring pupils are well-prepared both academically and emotionally for SATs and the move to secondary school. Key Responsibilities: Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum Preparing pupils for SATs through effective teaching, targeted interventions, and assessment Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform planning and support attainment Creating a positive, inclusive, and high-expectation classroom environment Supporting pupils’ confidence, resilience, and independence Providing targeted support for pupils with varying abilities, including SEN Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation Excellent classroom management skills A motivated and engaging teaching style Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work full-time in Burnham from September Desirable: Experience leading or supporting SATs interventions Knowledge of effective assessment strategies and pupil progress tracking Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN) Why This Role?
