Overview
Join Network Rail’s Capital Delivery team in the North West & Central Region, supporting regional major programmes, professional services and innovative projects across high‑volume and complex renewal programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead engineering activities across all project lifecycle stages.
* Ensure designs and construction meet legislation, Network Rail standards and E&P safety requirements.
* Review and advise on derogations and non‑compliance applications for E&P standards.
* Manage updates to standards, processes and product approvals before entry into service.
* Monitor design and specialist consultants, contractors and quality management systems.
* Provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, testing, commissioning and site supervision.
* Undertake reviews of design and/or construction activities, arrange audits of contractors and monitor safety, environment and quality.
What We’re Looking For
* Solid experience in electrification & plant engineering within a railway environment.
* Knowledge of multi‑disciplinary projects and appreciation of other rail engineering disciplines.
* Proven ability to lead engineering teams, contribute to tenders and communicate effectively at all levels.
Technical Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Relevant engineering experience across multi‑disciplinary areas.
* Technical qualifications to HNC/HND or equivalent GNVQ level.
* Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance; CDM, CSM, risk assessment and engineering management competency.
Desirable
* Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or degree level education.
* Appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.
Salary
£43,588 – £51,719 depending on experience
