Job Description

Rother DC Housing Company is a wholly owned local authority housing company, with Rother District Council as sole Shareholder. The Company was set up in October 2020 with the purpose of increasing supply of new homes in Rother, to include affordable housing, built to achieve high quality and environmental standards. The Company is well underway delivering it’s first major new housing scheme providing 200 homes to local people.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team at this exciting time, with a strong and wide ranging administrative background. The ideal candidate will have some financial expertise to provide effective support and assistance to Company Officers, Board Members and external consultants, as required.

Responsibilities include:

To provide a comprehensive administrative service for a wide range of housing development company activities.

To act as an initial point of contact for the company screening letters, emails and telephone calls providing responses, information and signposting accordingly.

Provide administrative support with IT systems, databases and websites, leading on company filing procedures.

To arrange and book meetings, minute taking, training and effectively manage multiple diaries.

Liaise with other services regarding company administration and fees for services rendered.

Provide administrative and event co ordination support on housing development projects.

Be the main lead on communications for the company, working closely with our outsourced communications team to deliver the Company Communication Strategy.

Updating and monitoring of social media platforms and monitoring forms.

Oversee the Company’s Forward Plan and support the Company towards achieving key milestones.

To lead on the Company filing system to keep organised and ensure all relevant records are kept.

To support Company Officers publishing board papers and agendas efficiently and effectively, to include reviewing documents and circulating them in the correct file format.

When required and as part of flexible working, to work with other external consultants, Rother District Council, the company's sole shareholder, and other services where necessary.

To cooperate with Managers in implementing all of the company's Governance Policies.

Provide financial administrative support to the company primarily recording and maintaining daily financial transactions.To check, reconcile and arrange payment for contractor invoices with the work undertaken.

Work closely with the company accountants and Financial Controller, and wider team on budgets and cashflow management and reporting using appropriate software as required.

A qualification in booking keeping and use of financial software such as Zero is desirable. There is potential for training and increased finance role subject to skills and experience.

To remain flexible to the changing needs and demands of a newly established housing development company, owned by a Local Authority

Applicants should be competent in all MS Office programs.

Applicants should be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent as a minimum.
