Do you want to make a real difference as a Psychosocial Recovery Worker? Our Substance Misuse Service at HMP Bullingdon is looking for a dynamic and experienced Recovery Worker. The team is innovative, forward thinking and committed to a Recovery focused approach that meets people’s needs. Working with people who have complex offending backgrounds and substance use needs within prison is challenging and rewarding. Are You:
* skilled and experienced in providing evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions geared towards supporting people to make positive changes and work towards recovery
* highly motivated with the ability to support and inspire
* able to apply your skills and interventions to the care of people with substance misuse needs
Main duties of the job
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team, in a custodial environment delivering a high standard drug and alcohol recovery service in response to the needs of the service users as part of Inclusion and Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
* Provide a range of psychosocial interventions motivating and supporting service users to achieve recovery and positive outcomes within a recovery-orientated substance misuse treatment service
* Collaborate with clinical prescribing services to ensure the needs of each service user are met and ensure integrated working within prison services
* Provide a drug and alcohol recovery service (assessment, recovery planning, casework coordination and psychosocial interventions) to service users located within the prison establishment
* Contribute to the prison and wider drug strategy

Person Specification
Essential qualifications/experience include:
* NVQ 3 Health & Social Care (or commitment to work towards) or relevant experience
* Previous experience of integrated working practices or working with those with substance use needs
* A thorough knowledge of substances and their effects and an understanding of harm reduction approaches
Desirable:
* Training in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Mapping techniques, or Auricular acupuncture
* Knowledge of the criminal justice field
