Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a TVI, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our students. Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering individualized and group instruction using adapted curricula and teaching materials tailored for visually impaired learners.
* Assessing students' visual abilities and learning needs to create effective educational plans.
* Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to foster accessible learning environments.
* Utilizing assistive technology and orientation and mobility techniques suitable for young learners.
* Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction to ensure academic growth.
* Participating in IEP meetings and maintaining accurate documentation related to student outcomes.
What We’re Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
* A valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).
* Experience working with elementary-aged students who are visually impaired or blind.
* A strong understanding of specialized instructional methods and related assistive technologies.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* The ability to customize curriculum to meet diverse learning needs.
