Our brand partners sell across Amazon (UK & Mainland Europe), Shopify, Tesco.com, Ocado, rapid delivery apps (Zapp, Uber, Deliveroo, House of Decant), and specialist drinks platforms - all managed through a single relationship with us.

We're now looking for a motivated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and help support the expanding operational and client accounting needs of the business.


Role Overview


As an Accounts Assistant at Shelfdrop, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records across multiple revenue streams and brand accounts. You'll manage receivables and payables using Xero, ensuring all commercial terms, promotional activities, logistics costs, and brand-specific arrangements are tracked and reconciled accurately.


This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, experience in accounting within dynamic or multi-party environments, and an interest in the drinks or FMCG sector.


Key Responsibilities


Accounts Receivable & Payable

* Maintain accurate records of sales receivables across all distribution and retail channels
* Monitor and reconcile amounts payable to client brands, ensuring alignment with brand-specific contracts and financial terms
* Manage cash allocations, bank reconciliations, and handle day-to-day accounting entries in Xero


Brand Financial Management

* Track and reconcile all promotional discounts and marketing spend made on behalf of brands
* Ensure correct pass-through of promotional charges to clients in line with agreed terms
* Record and monitor logistical, freight, and duty costs to ensure accurate recharging to relevant brands
* Maintain detailed records of brand-specific commercial terms, including Shelfdrop commission rates, under bond/duty paid stock terms, financing arrangements for duty or logistics, minimum engagement thresholds, payment terms and conditions, reporting and analytics packages, and marketing and promotional service agreements


Financial Reporting & Compliance

* Prepare monthly reconciliations and maintain schedules for all brand accounts
* Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC deadlines
* Collaborate with the operations and client teams to ensure financial transparency for all stakeholders


General Accounting Support

* Assist the Financial Controller with ad hoc tasks as required
* Collaborate with the wider Shelfdrop team as needed
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in financial tracking and reporting
* Scope to provide ad hoc support to Decant Group Ltd and its subsidiaries


What We're Looking For


Essential

* Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an accounting or finance support role
* Practical experience using Xero or a similar cloud-based accounting system
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel
* Excellent communication skills


Desirable

* Experience in FMCG, beverage alcohol, or distribution/logistics sectors
* Familiarity with multi-channel sales environments and brand financial management
* Part-qualified or studying AAT, ACCA, or CIMA would be an advantage
