We are seeking a volunteer trustee to join the board of a small, local drug and alcohol charity. The charity owns a 14-bed property which is used to provide accommodation and support to people in recovery from addiction.
What difference will you make?
Although we don't deliver services directly, we let our property to another charity with compatible aims. We use our cash reserve to provide housing support grants for those looking to move on from Walter Lyon House, and we also offer grants to other local charities/organisations so they can fund new or existing projects related to drug and alcohol recovery. Not only do the Trustees ensure that Walter Lyon House remains functional for service delivery, the Trustees review and decide upon all funding awards.

What will you be doing?
We are looking for a person who has the time, commitment, and skills to work with the other trustees to set the direction and deliver the next stage of the Charity's development. Our trust is looking to develop its range of strategies and partnerships locally and looks forward to appointing a strong and enthusiastic team player who will both listen and contribute in equal quantities.
