Job title: Programme Manager – Aerospace & Defence

About the role
You will drive strategy definition and end-to-end delivery across Consulting & Solutions activities, ensuring service excellence, customer satisfaction, and seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders. You will provide both tactical and strategic governance, leading people management efforts aligned with the business’s strategic vision to deliver impactful results. The role operates within the Aerospace and Defence business unit, which has a growing revenue of £10M+ per year.
Responsibilities
• Drive projects/Programme productivity by identifying levers to optimise costs, efficiency, revenue and drive their deployment on the project
• Manage resources allocation on projects as required (ramp up & ramp down of resources) and support the recruitment process
• Define and implement programme strategies to ensure seamless end-to-end delivery across Consulting & Solutions activities.
• Drive customer satisfaction and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to support business growth.
• Manage critical customer relationships and oversee responses to technical bids from the Go/No-Go phase through to tender response.
• Lead risk management efforts, proactively identifying and resolving issues to keep programmes on track.
• Structure the organisation to optimise delivery, recruiting and selecting skilled Project Managers to meet the required standards.
• Effectively manage budgets and P&L, ensuring financial targets are met while delivering high-value outcomes.
Required Experience
• Demonstrable experience in programme management within the Aerospace and Defence sector.
• Proven track record of managing complex, cradle-to-grave projects from bid development through to mobilisation and delivery.
• Strong experience in risk management, issue resolution, and governance within large-scale programmes.
• Experience in team leadership, recruitment, and development of project management teams.
• Expertise in budget management, P&L oversight, and financial forecasting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment with cross-functional teams.

Required Education
• Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
