The Role
We are working with a friendly, small accountancy practice in South Yorkshire that is looking to welcome an experienced Accounts Assistant to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit, relaxed environment while gaining exposure to a broad range of accounts and tax work.
The role is ideally suited to a QBE (Qualified by Experience) candidate with strong UK practice experience. No formal qualifications are required.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Preparation and submission of corporation tax and personal tax returns
* VAT return preparation and submissions
* Assisting with general bookkeeping duties where required
* Liaising with clients and HMRC as needed
* Supporting the wider team with day-to-day accounting tasks
About You
* Preferably 4+ years’ experience working within a UK accountancy practice
* Qualified by experience (QBE); no formal qualifications required
* Confident preparing accounts and tax returns with minimal supervision
* Well organised with good attention to detail
* Friendly, approachable, and a good team player
