37.5 hours per week (part-time or flexible working will be considered). Fixed-term (initial 9 months, with potential to extend subject to funding).
About the Role
Gypsies & Travellers Wales is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to support our Skills and Employment programme in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver support that helps Gypsies and Travellers gain the skills, confidence and opportunities needed to access employment, training and further learning and improve wellbeing. You will work directly with individuals and communities, while also developing partnerships with training providers, employers and other organisations to create meaningful pathways into employment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one‑to‑one and group support to help people access employment, training and education.
* Design and deliver courses such as driving theory, literacy, sewing and other community‑led skills.
* Develop new training opportunities based on community need.
* Identify and coordinate tutors, sessional staff and partners to deliver high‑quality provision.
* Build relationships with schools, employers, colleges and training providers.
* Support individuals into employment, self‑employment or further learning or wellbeing activities.
* Represent the organisation and community in local forums and networks.
* Contribute to the development of our employment and skills offer.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience supporting people into employment, training or education and with wellbeing.
* Experience delivering group work or training.
* Confidence working with communities to build trust, confidence and opportunities.
* Passionate about improving outcomes for Gypsies and Travellers and committed to going the extra mile to support, advocate for and create access to opportunities, including where this requires persistence and overcoming barriers.
* Ability to build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
* Organised, self‑motivated and able to manage own workload.
* Ideally, a qualified Professional Youth Worker (or equivalent) or relevant experience in community development, training or advice work.
