The Warn Group seeks an experienced Design Engineer for our NPD engineering team at Fab Fours in Lancaster, SC. This role involves applying engineering principles in designing and developing new products or modifying existing processes. It supports engineering solutions affecting major company programs and customer needs, including designing and implementing tooling, fixtures, and machinery for new product releases. Multiple projects may be handled simultaneously.
Essential Functions:
* Coordinate multiple projects.
* Collaborate with internal groups, suppliers, and customers.
* Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
* Support activities related to customer expectations and product development.
* Contribute to product conceptualization and intellectual property.
* Model, prototype, and verify product designs meet standards.
* Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
* Maintain organizational and detail-oriented skills.
* Participate in the selection process as needed.
* Handle engineering maintenance responsibilities for major product lines.
* Perform hands-on work on the shop floor.
* Represent Warn professionally at events and customer interactions.
* Ensure legal and ethical compliance in processes.
* Maintain regular attendance and work safely.
Required Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
* At least one year of hands-on engineering or product design experience.
* Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
* Professional engineering experience desirable.
Required Qualifications:
* Knowledge of CAD programs, preferably NX and/or SolidWorks.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Familiarity with Fab Fours NPD standards and procedures.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Effective problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* High integrity and ethics.
Skills:
Excellent reading, writing, verbal, and comprehension skills in English. Ability to present information clearly and resolve conflicts effectively. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Physical & Visual Activities:
Includes standing, walking, sitting, lifting (up to 50 pounds with assistance), and other physical tasks. Visual activities include color perception and field of vision. Frequent communication and computer use are required.
Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:
Work may be in office or shop environments, with exposure to machinery, cold, chemicals, and vapors.
