Site Supervisor/ Caretaker / Maintenance - Exhall, Bedworth (15-20 hrs per week)
Exhall Cedars Infant, Nursery and Pre-school is seeking a dedicated Site Supervisor / Caretaker / Maintenance person to join our friendly team. This role supports a happy and successful Infant and Nursery School by maintaining a clean, safe, and secure learning environment for pupils and the local community. We are looking for someone with physical stamina, initiative, reliability and the ability to pro‑actively identify and resolve tasks as they occur.
Responsibilities
* Lock and / or unlock the school; to include locking up the school each day.
* Carry out and record security / site checks on the buildings and grounds.
* Be responsible for the Health & Safety of those on site; help maintain Health and Safety records, including COSHH.
* Maintenance of property and grounds to a high standard including daily safety checks, reactive repairs, litter picking, leaf clearance and snow clearance and gritting during adverse weather conditions.
* Liaising with outside contractors undertaking work on behalf of the school.
* Monitor site premises stock and order supplies.
* Manage a team of cleaners to provide a clean and safe environment.
* Willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety.
Contract and hours
Contracted hours are 20 per week with actual hours mutually agreed. This would be a split am/pm shift. There will be occasional overtime outside contracted hours for training, weather-related jobs, emergencies on site, etc. The role is a part-time permanent contract over 52 weeks per year. An annual leave allowance of between 21 and 26 days (depending on local government length of service) plus 12 additional days (which includes 8 public bank holidays and 4 local authority days). Annual leave to be taken during school holiday dates with prior agreement with the Senior Leadership Team.
