Health Care Assistant – Gynecology Services
Gynaecology within Salford Royal Hospital offers dynamic services including an early pregnancy unit and gynaecology outpatients. We are recruiting Health Care Assistants to work across all gynaecology services, providing clinical support and assisting registered nurses in the assessment, planning and delivery of patient care.
Shift patterns are over five days.
Starting salary: £24,937 (Band 3, in line with the National Living Wage). This salary is below the new Health and Care Worker visa threshold, so the role is not eligible for sponsorship.
Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain communication with patients and staff, overcoming any differences in communication.
* Develop own skills and knowledge and provide information to others to support their development.
* Monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the own work area.
* Assist in maintaining and developing services.
* Ensure actions help to maintain quality and support equality, diversity and rights.
* Assist in assessing patients' health and wellbeing and related needs.
* Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating programmes to meet patients' health and wellbeing needs.
* Assist in the application of technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.
* Undertake delegated responsibilities from registered staff as appropriate.
* After appropriate training, undertake clinical observations of care, accurately record findings and refer information to the trained nurse.
* After appropriate training, undertake venepuncture.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience and/or training in a clinical setting.
* Ability to work under the direct supervision of registered members of staff.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
