Primary Mental Health Worker (PMHW)
Passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people? Do you have a professional qualification in nursing, social work, therapy or equivalent and a desire to provide high‑quality advice, support and brief interventions to children and young people under 18 experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties? Join our dynamic community Early Intervention CAMHS service within a friendly, supportive and creative multi‑disciplinary team.
Suffolk Early Intervention CAMHS is looking to recruit Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers or Therapists to join us as a Band 6 Primary Care Mental Health Worker (PMHW) in our Under 18 Wellbeing team on a permanent part‑time (30 hours) contract. There may be future potential to increase hours in the team.
It is an exciting time to join our service as we make the transition to a place‑based approach (3 locality teams – East, Central and West Suffolk) working closely with partners across education, health and social care. The roles will be based in our East and Central localities.
Role
The PMHW role is diverse and interesting, working holistically within an MDT alongside Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners (CWP), Psychological Therapists and Counsellors.
* Offer consultation and training for schools and professionals
* Facilitate groups for parents and support delivery of therapeutic groups for children and young people
* Present webinars on children’s mental health

Suffolk Early Intervention CAMHS proactively seeks to provide opportunities to develop and enhance the clinical skills and practice of our team, enhancing direct work with children, young people and families.
