We are hiring a Paralegal to support our General Counsel across legal, regulatory and compliance aspects of our venture capital operations. This is a highly visible role, partnering across our support and investment teams, offering hands-on experience from day one and the opportunity to grow and broaden your skills as the business evolves.
What you\'ll be doing
* Legal & Transactional Support
o Support the General Counsel on legal processes relating to the firm\'s investment funds
o Assist with investment transaction legal reviews, including KYC/AML checks and due diligence on investment companies
o Prepare and process transfers of investor interests in the funds
* Company Secretarial & Governance
o Draft and prepare board minutes, papers and agendas and maintain company registers
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal files, ensuring completeness of information
o Accurately record investment and exit decisions and prepare minutes of advisory board meetings
* Compliance & Regulatory
o Work with external compliance consultants to make filings and assist with the general maintenance of internal compliance materials
o Provide support in undertaking the company\'s anti-money laundering checks
o Contribute to the company\'s reporting team function, ensuring high quality data management and records are maintained on portfolio companies and investors
* Investor Relations & Fundraising
o Collaborate with the Investment team and Investor Relations to assist with due diligence support and data preparation for fundraising materials
o Support with maintaining data rooms and assist with investor onboarding
What we\'re looking for
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal with the following qualifications and attributes:
* Education & Professional Training: Law degree or GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law). Completed LPC (Legal Practice Course) or SQE1.
* Skills & Experience:
o Strong legal administrative skills, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new technology and business systems.
o Solid analytical and problem-solving ability, with confidence working with complex and numerical information.
o Organised and methodical, able to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and adapt to last-minute changes.
o Ideally, prior private practice experience in a corporate or funds team at a city firm.
o Relevant in-house experience at a venture capital or private equity firm would be highly advantageous.
o Familiarity with CRM systems is a plus.
