Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
Lookers Motor Group Limited is looking for a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our South Woodham Ferrers workshop. The role is permanent, full‑time.
Key Details
* Location: South Woodham Ferrers, UK
* Contract Type: Permanent, Full‑Time
* Salary: OTE up to £52,480 (Uncapped). Basic pay between £38,000 to £43,000, plus £3,000 Productivity Bonus and Time‑Saved Bonus Scheme.
* Hours: 40 hours Monday–Friday 8:00 am–5:00 pm, plus one Saturday 8:30 am–12:30 pm.
Responsibilities
* Support and provide guidance for all technicians and apprentices within the workshop.
* Carry out mechanical and electrical diagnosis using brand‑specific diagnostic machine following manufacturer guidelines.
* Assist service and diagnostic technicians with vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical diagnosis using computer‑based technology.
* Liaise with manufacturers’ technical teams when guidance is required.
* Advise customers/manufacturers of any further work required.
* Road test vehicles to ensure all work has been completed to Lookers standard.
Qualifications
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
* Motor industry experience (brand or non‑brand) and a full, valid UK driving licence.
* Self‑motivated, capable of supporting the team, ambitious, eager to learn, and able to maintain high standards for all vehicles.
* Previous brand experience desirable; brand accreditation training will be provided.
* Diagnostic, MOT and EV experience desirable but not essential.
