The Role
You’ll play a vital part in assessing and supporting children and families, intervening early where needed, and planning for permanence from day one. This role includes:
1. Undertaking assessments, Section 47 Enquiries, and Children in Need work
2. Working closely with families and multi-agency partners (police, health, education)
3. Planning and delivering sustainable interventions with measurable outcomes
4. Championing best practice, and aligning with the local Family Hubs and Early Help teams
5. Ensuring the child’s voice is heard throughout the process
You’ll be part of a team that ensures children and families receive the right support at the right time — and that when social care involvement ends, support from the local community continues.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who is:
6. A Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
7. 4+ years post-qualified, with solid experience in child protection, safeguarding, or family support
8. Confident working in fast-paced, multi-agency environments
9. Knowledgeable in Child Protection legislation and care planning
10. Skilled in direct work with children and families
11. A strong communicator and advocate for vulnerable children
12. Creative, resilient, and reflective in your practice

13. Manage a complex caseload with care and efficiency
14. Complete high-quality assessments and care plans
15. Make decisions based on risk, need, and the child’s best interests
16. Provide advice and support to junior staff and students
