The Role
We are looking for an organised, detail-orientated and experienced Project Manager to own and lead on a programme of projects, acting as the focal point between the customer and delivery teams.
This role will be required to operate in a multi-project environment, collaborating with all members of staff across the business, with a focus on a portfolio of projects for our established UK clients, where we deliver innovative solutions to nuclear operations and decommissioning. Experience working within the UK nuclear sector is essential. Some travel to customer sites will be required.
The Project Manager should be outcome focused on delivery against the project goals. The successful postholder will be knowledgeable in every aspect of the project lifecycle and be confident driving the deliverables of the project.
Duties will include planning, resource management and executing and monitoring all aspects of a specific project, from the initial tender process, through to initiation, implementation, completion and closeout.
The project management team are responsible for providing continuous project delivery support to Project Technical Leads. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience. Ideally, we are looking for individuals with experience of working within an SME, managing a range of projects; from short 3-month projects right up to multi-million-pound, multi-year projects.
Primary role objectives
* Drive projects through from conception to successful delivery – a delivery-focussed mindset is a must.
* Act as a primary point of contact for project teams and stakeholders and have day-to-day accountability for the service and solutions provided to the customer.
* Ensure that all projects are resourced with suitably qualified and experienced personnel and that projects are set up and delivered in accordance with any relevant compliance and procedures.
* Take ownership for problem solving, addressing any issues preventing successful deployments to customer sites.
* Ensure alignment between planned deployments and overall strategy.
* Develop and monitor project plans from implementation through to completion and closeout, ensuring a timely delivery and highlighting any concerns or delays.
* Work alongside the Project Technical Leads and clients to identify project requirements and ensure the successful delivery of projects, on time and to budget.
* Promote and ensure effective project and/or portfolio management practices.
* Actively promote the business while identifying and pursuing additional sales opportunities.
* Commitment to continual improvement of business and project management processes.
* Maintain effective communication and relationships with key stakeholders.
* Maintain project planning and reporting systems.
* Monitor, analyse and feedback on the progress of all project tasks against project objectives.
* Maintain and present project cost and status reports.
* Work with Sales and Technical Managers to produce bids and tenders.
* Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
About You

* Able to work under pressure and make difficult decisions required to achieve project objectives.
* Familiar with risk management and quality assurance control.
* Confident in stakeholder management at various levels.

* Able to demonstrate the ability to develop strong customer relationships and interpersonal skills.
* Experienced at working with specialist teams, within multi-project environments.
* Fully confident of the project lifecycle experience.
* Able to show sound knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
* Experienced in supporting, maintaining and/or establishing project governance.
* Process orientated, with strong organisational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
* Computer literate with working knowledge of the MS Office suite applications.
* Proactive, positive, "can do" approach.
* Professional and confidential with a high level of integrity.
Desirable
* Experience of managing on-site delivery within a regulated environment.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools.
* Experience in technology delivery.
* Exposure to gathering independent assurance in relation to project progress, risks, and objectives.
Experience and Education
* Project Management qualifications - APM PMQ preferred
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Project Management
* Experience in managing projects in nuclear industry
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage your own workload.
* Confident juggling multiple deadlines and priorities.
Other factors
* Right to work in the UK.
* Satisfactory DBS and reference checks.
* Ability to work flexibly when required.
* Driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
* Hybrid working is operational within this role. This is a mix of office and remote working based on business needs.
* Work Location: In person, with willingness to travel to UK based customer sites as required. Some international travel could be possible.
